Singer Songwriter Ryan Adams Faces a #MeToo Moment for Sexual Harassment

Has the end of the road come for this popular performer?  Now in a recent New York Times article, it has come to light that several female performers, including his ex-wife Mandy Moore, have all come forth alleging that Ryan Adams dangled career success in exchange for sexual favors.  This behavior also included harassing and hostile behavior towards several women including Moore.  Allegations have also surfaced asserting that Ryan Adams had a sexually charged relationship with an underage musician.

Ryan Adams denies the allegations or has simply stated that he does not recall the exchanges.  Regardless, from the number of women coming forth with allegations of sexual harassment behavior, it does not seem possible that Adams will be able to weather this storm without horrific repercussions.  Moreover, if the allegations are proven true, the penalties will be well deserved.

Sexual Harassment is so prevalent in today’s society.  No woman should be required to go to work and be subjected to sexual harassment or harassing behavior.  Title VII protects women from sexual harassment, and such behavior must be reported.
